Fresh off the stage of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this January in Las Vegas, Panasonic introduces the world’s largest flat-panel display. With an incredible 150” diagonal screen size, this media monster brings epic cinematic proportions to television viewing. In addition to its giant frame, the new model offers Panasonic’s sharp picture quality with a stunning 4096 x 2160 native resolution, four times the resolution of 1080p displays. If you’re having trouble picturing the actual size of the display, visualize nine of your 50” plasmas put together. Though currently recommended for commercial and cinema installation, it’s only a matter of time before they start popping up in the finest home theaters.
It’s also worth mentioning that Panasonic recently introduced new “eco-ideas” to establish their commitment to coexisting with the global environment and promoting smart ways to preserve resources. First, they want to lead the way in developing energy efficient products, reducing household energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Additionally, they will work to reduce CO2 emissions through improved productivity in all manufacturing processes, hoping to meet FY2001 levels by FY2011. Last July, they kicked off a campaign with 130,000 participating employees to encourage environmentally conscious activities in all aspects of life. Kudos to a big technology name making big steps in a greener direction. For more information, visit panasonic.com.
