West Hollywood, CA– Crossroads restaurant located in West Hollywood is the go to spot for health conscious foodies and the Who’s Who of Hollywood. Executive Chef and Owner Tal Ronnen’s Mediterranean inspired cuisine will make you forget that you’re not eating meat as you devour the extremely popular Tagliatelle Bolognese and soak up every last drop of the “hollandaise” sauce on the eggless Crossroads Benedict made with a sinfully delicious tomato hollandaise, fire roasted flat bread rounds, herb chickpea panisse, sautéed kale, and shitake bacon. Speaking of Crossroads Benedict, I was quite skeptical when I heard that a vegan restaurant was serving up brunch. What is brunch without fluffy Omelets, springy Pancakes, crunchy French Toast and the Holy Grail of Chicken and Waffles?
Leave it to Tal Ronnen to obliterate any naysayer’s idea of what Vegan cuisine should look and taste like. Tal put’s taste first and his upscale establishment was the first plant-based restaurant in town to have a full bar with an exceptional cocktail program. The mimosas may not be bottomless but tasty and potent they are with fresh squeezed orange juice and sparkling wine or you can get fancy and opt for the Blackberry Mimosa like we did that has all of the above and combines it with lime juice and muddled blackberries for a slightly tangy twist. The extensive cocktail list which was created by Jeremy Lake includes Bloody Mary cocktails, Aperol Spritz, Old Cuban, Hangover Kir, and our favorite, the Maid Service made with fresh cucumber, mint, lime, and your choice of vodka, gin, rum, brandy, bourbon, rye or tequila.
Let’s talk about the main reason you are reading this article: the food. Not only does Crossroad’s have its own, tasty version of Chicken & Waffles. You will also find the savory Crossroads Benedict which we previously mentioned that can compete with the best Eggs Benedict out there in addition to a decadent French Toast that is topped with a seasonal fruit compote, almond mascarpone and Combier maple syrup, Pancakes with blueberries or chocolate chips, an earthy Porcini Mushroom Scramble and a spicy Veggie Chorizo Scramble. There are also inventive soups, salads, desserts and sandwiches that can be ordered from the brunch menu. Brunch is served seven days a week from 10 AM to 2 PM. Tal Ronnen has an amazing cookbook entitled Crossroads for sale if you would like to try some of his recipes at home.
